James Beck, Ph.D., P.E.
Director of Systems Engineering
Director of Technology Development
James E. Beck received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA, in 1988, the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN, in 1990, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical and computer engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, in 1994 and 1995, respectively.
He is currently the director of technology development at Inmedius Corporation, Pittsburgh, PA, and an adjunct professor at the Institute for Complex Engineered Systems at Carnegie Mellon University. Formerly, he held positions at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center, Yorktown Heights, NY and General Motors Corporation, Kokomo, IN. He has performed research and development in the areas of mobile computing, distributed applications, embedded systems, computer architecture, design automation, hardware design and digital ASIC design.
Dr. Beck is a licensed professional engineer in the states of Pennsylvania and Indiana and a member of the IEEE. |

Sean Rushing
US Director of S1000D™ Products and Services
Mr. Rushing joined Inmedius in 2005. Mr. Rushing most recently
served as Senior Software Engineer at a major defense company
where he oversaw the development of technical publications solutions
and managed software developers. Sean has been a member of the
S1000D™ Electronic Publications Working Group (EPWG), and is a
contributing member of the US S1000D™ working groups. Sean has
a high level of skill with a range of technical publishing standards
including S1000D, mil-spec 87268, 87269, ATA iSpec 2200, and a
diverse background in publishing technologies. In addition his
experience with LSA requirements 1388-2B and Def Stan 00-60 provides
a unique product perspective.
Mr. Rushing received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering
from Northern Arizona University. |

Ray Andrick
Director of Software Development Mr. Andrick joined Inmedius in 2007 as Director of Software Development with over 10 years of technical and management experience in mission-critical enterprise software development projects. Mr. Andrick most recently co-founded and served as President of Perceptive Solutions Inc., a technology company specializing in the development of enterprise software solutions for the collection and processing of commercial and military aircraft records. In this position, he was responsible for managing all aspects of the product lifecycle and provided overall corporate leadership and direction.
Prior to joining Perspective Solutions, Mr. Andrick served as South East Technical Director for Salient Corporation, where he was responsible for technical management and mentoring in support of clients. Before joining Salient Corporation, he was a Project Leader and Systems Engineer at Electronic Data Systems (EDS). While at EDS, he worked in various capacities supporting the Automotive and Utilities Divisions.
Mr. Andrick holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. |

Thomas Hawley
Director of Aviation Programs
Mr. Hawley joined Inmedius in 2001. Prior to joining Inmedius,
he was a senior software engineer at the Carnegie Mellon University’s
Robotics Institute. At CMU, he lead software teams that developed
prototype systems for corporate and military customers including
Daimler Chrysler, the US Army, the Naval Air Systems Command and
the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.
Mr. Hawley has a honorable background which includes,
serving as a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy, flying
carrier-based SH-60F and HH-60H helicopters for missions including
Anti-Submarine Warfare, Combat Rescue and Special Warfare Support.
In addition to conducting live exercises, Mr. Hawley was an instructor
pilot responsible for teaching advanced tactics to fleet pilots
and a standardization pilot responsible for evaluating the performance
of other instructors and fleet aviators. Prior to his career in
the Navy, Mr. Hawley worked as a computer consultant specializing
in PC software development.
Mr. Hawley received a B.S. in Computer Science
from Northwestern University and a M.S. in Computer Science from
the University of Nevada in Las Vegas. |

Daniel Siewiorek Ph.D.
Director and Chief Scientist
Dr. Siewiorek sits on the Inmedius Board of Directors and advises
the company about the latest trends in software and hardware technology.
He is the Buhl Professor of Computer Science and Electrical and
Computer Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) and is
currently director of the University's HCII. He was previously
director of the Engineering Design Research Center and cofounder
of its successor, the Institute for Complex Engineering Systems
at CMU. Dr. Siewiorek has designed or been involved with the design
of nine multiprocessor systems, and has been a key contributor
to the dependability of 24 commercial computer systems. He leads
an interdisciplinary team that has designed and constructed 20
generations of mobile computing systems, and has served as a consultant
to several commercial and government organizations, all while
serving on six technology advisory committees.
Dr. Siewiorek has published more than 350 technical
papers and eight textbooks about parallel processing, computer
architecture, reliable computing, and design automation. He was
elected an IEEE Fellow for his contributions to the design of
modular computer systems, received the Eckert-Mauchly Award for
his contributions to computer architecture, and was a member of
the inaugural class of ACM Fellows.
Dr. Siewiorek received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering
from the University of Michigan and an M.S. and Ph.D., both in
Electrical Engineering, from Stanford University. |
